Oklahoma’s 59-56 win over West Virginia, in Morgantown, on Friday night did more than just propel the Sooners back to the Big 12 championship game, it also filled Monday’s conference award full of OU football players.

Kyler Murray was named as the Big 12 Player of the Week, Kennedy Brooks was the Newcomer of the Week, and Austin Seibert was Special Teams Player of the Week.

It marked the fifth time Murray has been named Offensive Player of the Week this season, tying him with Ricky Williams (1998) for the most in a season by a single player. The Heisman finalist was 20 for 27 through the air and averaged 13.5 yards per attempt and 18.2 yards per completion, and averaged 12.7 yards per rush.

Brooks was Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season, after rushing for a career-high 182 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries (8.7 average).

Eight successful PAT’s and a field goal gave Seibert eleven points on the night. Monday he was awarded with his second Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season, and sixth overall for his career.

The Sooners will play Texas at 11:00 Saturday morning for the Big 12 Championship.
