Stop me if you’ve heard this before. A highly touted quarterback, who also happens to be a baseball star, could be looking for a place to transfer to after his freshman season.
Obviously I could be talking about Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray but I’m not. I’m talking about Georgia freshman quarterback Justin Fields…who might just end up being Kyler Murray 2.0.
According to anonymous sources, published by USA Today, Fields is considering a transfer away from Athens, Georgia.
In an article published by ESPN Oklahoma could be a landing point should he decide to pull the trigger on a transfer.
The source said that Fields and his father have had multiple meetings with Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart about his future over the past few weeks, and that Fields hasn’t formally requested a transfer, nor has he been placed in the NCAA’s transfer portal, which notifies other schools that he’s interested in leaving. – ESPN
The ESPN article goes on to state that Florida State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma are all possible landing spots for Fields.
The nation’s #1 overall recruit in 2018 (per ESPN), Fields completed 27 of 39 passes for 328 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in 12 games this season.
