If a report from a Dallas sports anchor is correct, Kyler Murray currently values himself at $15 million dollars. In a meeting with the Oakland Athletics, Murray reportedly to them that he would forgo the NFL Draft for just that amount. If the A’s aren’t willing to pay up then he’s going to declare for the draft.
The Athletics selected Murray 9th overall in last June’s MLB Draft and ended up giving him a $4.66 million dollar bonus. No one really saw the impact he would have on the football field at the time though.
Murray passed for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns on his way to the Heisman Trophy. In leading the Sooners back to the College Football Playoff, Murray became the focal point of the college football world.
Many experts believe that Murray could be a Top 10 pick in the NFL Draft if he were to commit to football, which is why he’s currently at an impasse with Oakland.
Monday is decision day for Murray and while no one really knows what he’s ultimately going to decide, it looks like we at least know the parameters of his decision.
