Oklahoma’s 2019 recruiting class has grown again. Defensive end David Ugwoegbu announced on Twitter Thursday night that he has committed to play football for the Sooners.
A four-star prospect, per Rivals, Ugwoegbu is the 25th ranked player at his position and the 36th overall ranked player from the state of Texas. The 6-5/225 Katy, Texas native last visited Oklahoma on November 16th of last year. Since then, he had also taken a visit to Texas A&M but it wasn’t enough to sway him away from the Sooners.
Recruited by Calvin Thibodeaux, Ugwoegbu picked OU over twenty other scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, TCU, and Texas.
He becomes the 23rd member of Oklahoma’s 2019 recruiting class.
