Oklahoma head coach Skip Johnson announced Tuesday that junior left-handed pitcher Braidyn Fink will miss the 2019 baseball season with an arm injury.
Fink, a native of Moore, Okla., pitched in 28 games last season, posting a 1.71 ERA in 21.0 innings with 28 strikeouts and nine walks. He will have two years of eligibility remaining when he returns from the injury.
Fink’s performance in 2018 was a vast improvement over his freshman campaign of 2017. In the same number of appearances, Fink lowered his ERA last year from the 7.23 he posted in 2017. His improvement left a lot of reason to hope for him to have been a key contributor coming out of the bullpen this spring.
