Taking their talents on the road once again, the Sooners hoped to end a five game losing streak in conference play. On the other end of the spectrum, TCU previously lost to Oklahoma in Norman. Now looking to return the favor in Fort Worth, the two collided on the hardwood.
Quickly falling behind 17-10, it appeared as though Lon Kruger and company would suffer a familiar end. Refusing to give up, Kristian Doolittle found a way to involve others in the game plan. Dishing out several assists, the forward helped spark a 20-8 run as the Sooners claimed a first half lead.
Battling back and forth through the final twenty minutes of play, the Sooners refused to relinquish the lead. Showing a bit of tenacity and defensive prowess, the group held the Horned Frogs to 28.1% from behind the arc and 35.4% from the field. While the defense produced opportunities on the other end of the court, OU claimed a 71-62 victory.
Finishing the game with five assists, Doolittle set the tone for the rest. Netting a team high 21 points, the junior recorded a double-double with ten rebounds as well. Chipping in, Brady Manek began to settle into a rhythm. Shooting 50% from the three point line, the lengthy player scored 14 points of his own. Not to be outdone, Christian James also got in on the action. Pouring in another 14 points, the big three from Oklahoma righted the ship.
Now standing 16-10 overall, the program hopes to make a late push for an NCAA Tournament bid.
