After Russell Westbrook got into a verbal altercation with a Utah Jazz fan during last night’s game, video of the incident flooded social media. Everyone who is anyone quickly made assumptions, and even after both sides were heard, people aligned with who they felt to be telling the closest thing to the truth.
In the aftermath of the incident, decisions were made both by the NBA and the Jazz organization as to how to go about handling the event. The announcements were made about the same time on Tuesday afternoon.
The Utah Jazz made their announcement first, stating that the fan involved has been given a lifetime ban effective immediately.
Russell Westbrook was given a $25,000 fine “for directing profanity and threatening language to a fan.”
While discussions on the incident are probably far from over, the decisions have been made, and the consequences appear to fit the crimes.

Russ is extremely lucky he didn’t get suspended.
Probably. I think the context of the situation is what earned him the fine alone.
