Arriving To K.C. With Confidence
After dismissing four players back in January the Cowboys are finally playing with confidence again. With a roster that is down to just seven scholarship players, OSU pushed #8 Texas Tech and #13 Kansas to the brink before logging their first win in Waco since 2015 and closing out the season with a win over West Virginia in the finale.
Not Yor Average Freshman
Oklahoma State center Yor Anei leads the Big 12 and ranks eighth nationally with 2.52 blocks per game. His 78 blocks are the third most in school history, but are only seven shy of tying the school record of 85 set by Andre Williams in 2002-03. Since the start of March, Anei is averaging 6.0 blocks per game.
Oklahoma State guards Thomas Dziagwa and Isaac Likekele have already enjoyed success against the Horned Frogs this season. Dziagwa scored 23 points, on 6-of-13 shooting from 3-point, in Stillwater, and averaged 18.5 points on 10-of-18 (.556) shooting from deep in the two meetings. Likekele scored 17 points and 13 points in the two meetings, and combined to shoot 47.8 percent with 5.0 assists in the two games.
Forward Cameron McGriff leads Oklahoma State in scoring and rebounding on the season with an average of 12.4 points and 7.4 boards per game. Lindy Waters (12.1 PPG) and Dziagwa (11.7 PPG) round out OSU’s leading scorers.
The Cowboys are scoring an average of 68 points per game this season while giving up an average of 71.5 points per game to opponents.
