In 2018, the Cowboys beat the Sooners in overtime despite eventual National Freshman of the Year Trae Young scoring 48 points – the most ever in a Bedlam game, the most ever by visiting player at Gallagher-Iba Arena and tied for the most ever by a Big 12 player. In 2019, the Sooners pulled off the 70-61 victory despite trailing by as many as 19 points in the first half. Jamal Bieniemy scored a career-high 17 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting (3-of-3 from deep).
The last time Oklahoma State started Big 12 play with an 0-4 record was in 2016-17. That season, the Cowboys turned around an 0-6 conference start to finish 9-9 and earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tourney.

All five of Oklahoma State’s starters scored in double figures with Anei and Waters leading the way with 17 points each. Anei also grabbed 10 rebounds, for a double-double and blocked seven shots. TCU only had five total blocked shots as a team.

If Sunday’s game was a measuring stick for OSU’s potential then the sky is the limit. The Cowboys took an early lead, on a Yor Anei dunk, and held it through the majority of the first half.
