A lot has happened over the last couple of days, and not all of it has been basketball, but now that punishments have been handed out for the incident on Monday night between Russell Westbrook and a Utah Jazz fan, it’s time to refocus on finishing out the regular season in full force.

The Thunder picked up a win over the Jazz in Utah on Monday, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, OKC played incredible defense and held an opponent to below 100 points. Tonight, the Thunder returns home after a four-game road trip as they host the Brooklyn Nets.

After the last game between these two teams, a 114-112 victory for the Thunder in Brooklyn, the Nets ran off 7 straight wins, and they now sit at 6th in the East with a 36-33 record.

The Thunder is in the process of trying to fight back to the 3-seed in the West while the Nets have very little hopes of climbing to the 5 spot in the East. Still, Brooklyn wants to maintain their 6-seed, and the Thunder cannot afford the risk of dropping any lower in the Western Conference standings, so tonight’s game is one of playoff implications.
