NCAA Tournament | Oklahoma Sooners Earn No. 9 Seed In South Region

The Oklahoma Sooners started the season with a bang collecting elevens win over the course of the non-conference portion of the schedule. Suffering just a single loss during the same span, the program entered Big 12 play looking to silence all doubters. However, the outlook on the year took a drastic turn as the losses piled up putting NCAA Tournament hopes in jeopardy.

Sitting firmly on the bubble entering Selection Sunday, the program awaited judgement. One game shy of the crucial 20-win mark, the Oklahoma Sooners heard their name called as a No. 9 Seed in the big dance. Paired with the No. 8 Seed — the Ole Miss Rebels — an opportunity sits in front of the experienced group.

Should Oklahoma get by the Rebels with a win in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, a No. 1 Seed in Virginia will most like be the second opponent. There’s no doubt this team is ready to step out of conference play one again while representing the Big 12!
