Oklahoma rolled through their opening weekend of Big 12 conference play with a three-game sweep of the Kansas Jayhawks at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Sunday completed the sweep with a 10-5 win.
The Sooners ten runs came off thirteen hits, with Brady Lindsly recording multiple RBI’s, and scored a run, on a 2-for-4 performance from the plate.
OU started the scoring in the bottom of the third when Brandon Zaragoza singled through the left side to score Diego Muniz. Two batters later Tyler Hardman scored Zaragoza on a single through the right side.
Oklahoma would score two more in the fourth and then three in the bottom of the fifth to take control of the game. After scoring another run in the bottom of the seventh, the Sooners had to trust their defense to get them out of a jam in the top of the eighth.
Levi Prater improved to 5-1 on the season after throwing five strong innings in which he struck out six batters and allowed just one run off two hits.
Oklahoma (21-4, 3-0) will travel to Stillwater on Tuesday night to play a mid-week Bedlam game that won’t count against their conference record.
