A night after getting pushed a bit by the Baylor Bears the Oklahoma Sooners returned to their typical dominating fashion secure the series.
Caleigh Clifton went two-for-three from the plate, scoring twice, and Shay Knighten and Grace Green both went yard to help OU produce eight runs in five innings.
In the circle, Mariah Lopez was every bit as dominant as her teammates from the plate, fanning five batters and allowing just three hits in a run-rule shortened five inning game to improve her season record to 13-1.
A sac-fly by Jocelyn Alo scored Fale Aviu, in the bottom of the first, to get Oklahoma rolling. Then Grace Green capped a three-run first by bringing in Clifton and Knighten with a 2-RBI single to left field.
The Sooners crossed home plate three more times in the third. Shay Knighten sent a two-run blast out to left field and then Lynnsie Elam scored Nicole Mendes with an RBI double to right-center field.
After Lopez shut the Bears down once again in the fifth Grace Green brought the game to a close with a two-run homer to right field that invoked the run-rule.
OU will look to continue its streak to 31 consecutive Big 12 victories when they go for the sweep of Baylor at Noon on Sunday.
