Texas Tech scored a run in the top of the first inning and never looked back in their effort to become the first conference team to sweep Oklahoma this season.
The Red Raiders went on to post six runs, through the first seven innings, before the Sooners finally plated their first run in the bottom half. The teams swapped two runs each in the eighth before OU scored the final run of their 8-4 loss in the bottom of the ninth.
Ben Abram lasted just three innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, to pick up just his second loss of the season (6-2). For the team they’ll drop to 8-10 in Big 12 play, tying them with TCU and Kansas for fifth in the conference standings, with Oklahoma State and Texas coming up.
