Under the direction of Lincoln Riley, the Oklahoma Sooners continue to successful recruit players on the offensive side of the ball. On Thursday afternoon, the program added 4-star running back, Seth McGowan, to the list of verbal commitments.
At one point in time, McGowan meteorically rose through the recruiting rankings before peaking at No. 20 overall. Although the rankings remain in a state of flux, the running back continued to draw the interest of 26 schools from across the nation. With Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame placing offers on the table, McGowan eventually chose Norman as the destination to feature his unique skill set.
As a junior, McGowan carried the ball a total of 222 times for Mesquite High School. Racking up 1,613 yards of offense on the ground, the back crossed the goal line on 25 different occasions. Stepping on to a college campus soon, McGowan could easily compete for playing time as a true freshman.
