Oklahoma currently has eleven players committed for a 2020 class that is already ranked as the top recruiting class in the Big 12. Recruiting site 247Sports has the Sooners #10 nationally but here’s why you can expect them to continue climbing.
Count The Stars
Seven of Oklahoma’s eleven commitments are ranked 4-stars or higher, capped by 5-star recruit Jase McClellen (Aledo, TX) who is the #5 ranked running back in the nation and #3 overall prospect from the state of Texas.
Top 10 In Their Position
McClellen isn’t the only commitment ranked in the Top 10 at their respective position though. Offensive tackle Nate Anderson is ranked #8 nationally. Corner Dontae Manning is ranked #7. And JUCO defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey is ranked #1.
Who To Keep An Eye On
With multiple targets yet to declare, and the early signing period still six months away, the Captain Obvious statement here is that Oklahoma isn’t close to being finished with the 2020 class.
The nation’s top running back, Zachary Evans, included Oklahoma in his recently released Top 5.
The top prospect in Oklahoma, Broken Arrow offensive guard Andrew Raym, is thought to be a heavy lean towards OU. 247Sports has him ranked as the #3 guard in the country.
Scottsdale, Arizona corner Kelee Ringo is ranked #2 nationally at his position and is thought to be warming up to the Sooners.
The same is true for 4-star safety Lathan Ransom who is ranked #4 nationally at his position. He recently announced his Top five with Oklahoma incluced.
Fort Lauderdale offensive tackle Marcus Dumervil is a 4-star prospect who seems to be down to Oklahoma and LSU for his college choices.
Houston 4-star safety Bryson Washington is thought to be a heavy Oklahoma lean at the moment.
The nation’s #2 tight end prospect, Jalein Conyers, (Gruver, TX) is also a strong lean towards coming to Oklahoma.
As are Manor, Texas 4-star defensive end Princely Umanmielen, Scottsdale, Arizona 4-star corner Jacobe Covington, 3-star Moorpark, California offensive tackle Jonah Monheim, and 3-star St. Louis, Missouri defensive end Noah Arinze.
Hazen, Arizona 3-star defensive end Blayne Toll looks to be coming down between Oklahoma and Arkansas.
