Setting the Stage
Oklahoma State is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Texas Longhorns where the Cowboys had plenty of opportunities to take control of the game but failed to execute when needed. Today, the Cowboys host the 24th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats.
The Wildcats entered the season with very little buzz around them. Chris Klieman is in his first year as the head coach in Manhattan, and Kansas State appears to lack the talent necessary to win games. That has not been the case, however.
Kansas State has jumped out to a 3-0 start, their first since 2015, which includes a solid road win over Mississippi State. Their start has helped them break into the Top 25, something was that certainly not expected in the preseason.
Today’s game is key for both the Cowboys and the Wildcats. A win could set either team on the path to success for the rest of the season, while a loss could derail any hopes that they have to make it to the Big 12 Championship.
