Note: Narrowing down top Bedlam moments is literally impossible to do. What we’ve decided to do is pick five special moments from games dating back to the 2010 season.
Setting Up The Play
Through the first fifteen minutes of play it appeared that the 2015 Bedlam game was going to be a classic shootout. The two teams combined for 259 yards and 24 points in the first quarter with Oklahoma having a 14-10 lead as the two teams swapped ends of the field.
Three plays into the second quarter that all changed though as Joe Mixon took a handoff, reversed direction, got a lead block from Baker Mayfield and then burst 66 yards for a score.
The Sooners outscored the Cowboys 30-10 in the second quarter and never looked back on their way to a 58-23 victory. Oklahoma ran for 344 yards in that game with Mixon accounting for 136 yards on 14 carries.
More importantly, this Bedlam win gave the Sooners the first in what is now a streak of four consecutive Big 12 championships.
