Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will Oklahoma’s be. The Sooners showed many signs of improvement on the defensive side of the ball in 2019 but the lack of roster depth showed up as a major weakness in the Peach Bowl loss to LSU.
With the 2020 recruiting cycle closed out, and spring ball just weeks away, coaches are sending out scholarship offers for 2021 and defense has been a focal point and that’s where De’Jahn Warren fits into the story.
A 6-1/185 junior college recruit from Lackawanna Community College, Warren is thought to be a lock to commit to Penn State. That hasn’t stopped Alabama and now Oklahoma from jumping in the mix though. The Tide and the Sooners both made offers on Wednesday and will no doubt make his decision a bit more complicated.
A physical corner who can press, Warren has both speed and strength that allows him to be a game breaker both on defense and special teams. He’s drawn a total of eleven scholarship offers with several more sure to come.
