Colin Cowherd | CeeDee Lamb Is Always Open So Don’t Draft Him

No one likes to hear Colin Cowherd’s voice more than Colin Cowherd. The sports radio “shock jock” has made a living throwing logic and knowledge out the window in exchange for ratings driven by controversy. His spat with Baker Mayfield was widely popular and now it seems as if he’s got his sights on another NFL prospect from Oklahoma.

To be fair, Cowherd never labeled CeeDee Lamb as undraftable like he did with Baker Mayfield. In fact, he didn’t even say that Lamb wasn’t first round draft material, just not Top 8 and not the best receiver in the draft.

He labeled the most draft ready receiver in the Big 12 as small and injury prone. He also made a point of saying that the all-conference receiver was always open, therefore he can’t be as good as the Alabama receivers.

There really isn’t a world where any of this makes sense and Cowherd knows that. Lamb is 6-2/200 which makes him bigger than Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy whom Cowherd likes as the top receiver in the class.

Keep in mind that we’re talking about a guy who thrives on controversy. Cowherd is too smart to be this ignorant. Riling up a fanbase for Twitter mentions and video clicks is exactly what he’s going for…and succeeding at.

Here’s the entire segment on Lamb

That said, I can’t look past the statement that Lamb is always open and therefore you must pass on him being a Top 8 pick. That’s an entire new level of moronic talk that would be just above Buddy Ryan’s famous quote about cutting Chris Carter from the Philadelphia Eagles, “All he ever does is catch touchdowns,” Ryan said.

Of course Cowherd knows this as well and the fact that I took 15 minutes to type out a post about it proves that he knows exactly what he’s doing.
