Oklahoma opened up its appearance at the Mary Nutter Classic with a 10-2 run-rule victory over Nebraska. Shannon Saile pitched the first two innings and Brooke Vestal took it home over the final three frames to pick up OU’s ninth win of the season (9-1).
The Sooners were explosive from the plate, scoring all ten runs through the first two innings (6 in the first, 4 in the second). Ironically they all came with no one hitting a home run.
Grace Lyons went 2-for-3 from the plate and knocked in a team-high three RBI. She was joined by Lynnsie Elam and Grace Green with two knocks on the day. Elam had two RBI in the game, as did Mackenzie Donihoo, and Eliyah Flores knocked in one.
The Sooners are back in action at 3:00 Friday afternoon against Texas A&M.
