Second ranked Washington jumped on Oklahoma in the first inning and never looked back on their way to a 12-2 victory over #3 Oklahoma. The Huskies blasted the Sooners for two runs in the first and then four more in the second to quickly build a 6-0 lead. Unfazed by OU’s two runs in the bottom of the fifth, U-Dub added five more runs over the final two frames to complete a 12-2 rout in a highly-anticipated Top 4 matchup.
Starting with Giselle “G” Juarez, who gave up two runs in the first, every single Oklahoma pitcher (five in all) was responsible for giving up multiple runs.
Taylon Snow knocked in Alycia Flores with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth and then scored herself off a Kinzie Hansen single that sparked a little hope. It certainly was too little too late for the Sooners who have to regroup and play Wisconsin in their finale of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Sunday.
