Jake Bennett improved his season record to 3-0 as Oklahoma used three timely hits to back up a solid performance to collect its fourteenth win of the season.
The Sooners sent seven pitchers to the mound in a shutout performance, led by Bennett who went four strong innings in the start, allowing no runs off two hits while striking out three batters. Jason Ruffcorn picked up his fifth save on the year by throwing a no-hit ninth inning where he struck out all three batters.
Peyton Graham got the scoring going for Oklahoma when he crossed home plate on a 6-3 double-play ball hit by Logan Kohler in the top of the second.
Graham scored again in the fourth when Kohler flied out to right field for an RBI sacrifice.
Oklahoma’s third and final run came in the top of the ninth to provide some insurance. Tanner Tredaway sent a sac-fly to center field that scored Connor Beichler from third.
The Sooners were playing in Arlington in what was the first of six consecutive games away from Norman. OU is heading to
San Luis Obispo, California next for a four-game series against Cal Poly that begins on Thursday.
