Talk about Oklahoma City Thunder basketball has centered a lot around the topic of, “what if.” What is OKC was able to play Utah on that fateful night back in March? What if the Thunder had won that game instead of the season coming to a screeching halt? What if Oklahoma City entered the hiatus as the #4 seed instead of #5?
We don’t have to ask those questions anymore. Now we know that the Thunder will pick up where they left off when they resume play on August 1st. Oklahoma’s first of the final eight games before the playoffs will be against Utah.
OKC’s schedule to close out the regular season is no joke though. As much as the team and fans are chomping at the bit to get back at the Jazz, they will also have to play five of their final eight games before the playoffs against Top 4 seeds from they East and West.
At 40-24, the Thunder are just 1.5 games behind Denver for the third seed but also just 1.5 games ahead of Dallas, who currently sits at the 7th seed. OKC was 6-10 against the eight teams remaining on the schedule this season.
