The college football early signing period is a week and a half away and Oklahoma’s class that currently ranks #11 nationally is looking to boost its way well into the Top 10. That could easily happen if two recruits recently trending towards the Sooners end up committing.
After attending the Baylor game over the weekend with quarterback commit Caleb Williams, 247Sports composite 5-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh was given a crystal ball prediction towards Oklahoma by Clemson Insider Anna Hickery on Sunday.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Leigh is the #11 overall prospect for 2021 and the top player from the state of Virginia. Thought to have had his 41 scholarship offers narrowed down to Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Clemson, the Sooners now seem to be making a significant run at LSU’s odds on land ingthe Fairfax, Virginia talent according to the experts.
Monday brought more good news when 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong gave a crystal ball prediction for Oklahoma to get Garland, Texas running back Camar Wheaton. Long thought to be a lock to land in Norman, news that Wheaton may have been looking around started surfacing late last month as Alabama began to put the pressure on.
Wheaton is rated as the nation’s #26 prospect and the #2 running back in the 2021 class by the 247Sports composite rankings. Wiltfong’s prediction is an indicator that the 5-11/190 two-sport star isn’t wavering after all.
Camar Wheaton has set December 23rd as his commitment date and Tristan Leigh as set a date of January 2nd.
