Tre Brown Declares For NFL Draft, Won’t Play In Cotton Bowl

Tre Brown’s final play as a Sooner is one that will be remembered for a long time. His interception of Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy to close out Oklahoma’s sixth consecutive conference championship will also serve as his crimson and cream swan song. On Monday evening Brown thanked Sooner Nation and declared for the NFL Draft, also stating that he wouldn’t be playing against Florida in the Cotton Bowl.

Since 2017 Brown has logged 51 game appearances for the Sooners – recording 141 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 4 interceptions. His stellar career will be remembered as legendary due to his heroics over the last three years in the Big 12 championship game.

While it’s disappointing that he won’t return to AT&T Stadium for one more big game when the Sooners take on Florida in the Cotton Bowl, we’ve got nothing but well wishes and appreciation for him.
