I think in the backs of our minds we all knew this was coming, especially after the Cotton Bowl performance he had, but we were hoping it wouldn’t. Oklahoma running back Rhamondre Stevenson has officially declared for the NFL Draft, ending his playing career at the University of Oklahoma.
Stevenson will leave Oklahoma having averaged 7.2 yards per carry over the last two seasons. He also leaves Oklahoma’s backfield in the capable hands of Kennedy Brooks and sophomore to be Seth McGowan. However, the Sooners will be a bit thin at the running back position, based on what ultimately happens with the 2021 recruiting class, which means a guy like Mikey Henderson could become more of an option to run the ball in 2021.
