Sooners Complete Third Consecutive Run-Rule Victory

I’m not sure what mid-season form is going to look like for Oklahoma but the early season has been spectacular. By way of an 11-0 win over Abilene Christian the Sooners completed their third consecutive run-rule/shutout victory at the Miner Invitational.

Freshman Tiare Jennings continued her hot start to the season by going 3-for-3 from the plate, including her 5th home run of the season. She’s matched for the team high in dingers with junior Grace Lyons who also hit her 5th of the season. Senior Jocelyn Alo went 2-for-3 from the plate to extend her hitting streak to 17 games.

The offensive star of the day though was transfer Jana Johns who launched her first home run as a Sooner in the top of the third. She repeated the feat again in the top of the top of the fifth to extend Oklahoma’s lead to 10-0 at that point. In all OU scored 11 runs off 11 hits.

The Sooners remained dominant in the circle as well where “G” Juarez pitched three innings, allowing no runs and no hits, on her way to a second win of the season.

As far as dominating starts to the season go, you probably won’t find a better one that what Oklahoma is producing right now. The Sooners are 3-0 with no runs allowed, 49 runs scored and 20 home runs.

OU will play its fourth game of the season this afternoon around 4:00 (CT)
