Tiare Jennings and Jocelyn Alo each homered twice as Oklahoma scored 14 runs in the first two innings while cruising to another run-rule victory that also came by way of a shutout. Kinzie Hansen also went yard as a total of four Sooner batters knocked in multiple RBIs.
Alo and Hansen each left the park in the bottom of the first inning as OU jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Then the Sooners sent eleven batters to the plate in the bottom of the second on their way to an eight-run inning that would cap the scoring for the night. Alo sent the ball out of the park for her second dinger of the night in the bottom of the second but it would be Jennings who took the spotlight with two home runs in the frame.
Jennings ended the night going 3-for-3 from the plate and accounted for four runs batted in. Alo, Grace Lyons, and Hansen each went 2-for-3 on the night as Oklahoma’s offensive machine literally came out swinging for the fences…or should we say scoreboard.
From the circle Nicole May, Macy McAdoo, and Olivia Rains worked to produce OU’s twelfth shutout victory of the season. McAdoo picked up her first win of the year (1-0) by going 1.2 innings of relief in which she allowed just one hit and struck out two.
The Sooners will be in Oklahoma City this weekend for the Hall of Fame Tournament.
