The Rich Get Richer As Oklahoma Lands Arkansas Transfer Receiver Mike Woods

Last Saturday Mike Woods starred in the Arkansas spring football game. Less than a week later he had entered the transfer portal and bounced out in Norman, Oklahoma. It’s a problem solved for the Sooners and a bit of a head scratcher for the Razorbacks.

The problem solved for Oklahoma centers around Trejan Bridges who has been suspended indefinitely from the team. Bridges was set to be Spencer Rattler’s deep threat due to his speed allowing him to stretch the defense. Without Bridges Lincoln Riley was sent scrambling to potentially replace that option. We just thought he was going to look over his roster and possibly turn to someone along the lines of true freshman Mario Williams. Clearly that won’t be necessary now as Woods will hands down solve the problem.

The 6-1/203 speedster only lasted in the portal for 72 hours before he bounced back out and when you look at his physical attributes and style of play if makes sense. Last season he averaged 19.3 yards per reception on his way to 619 yards and 5 touchdowns. To say that he’ll be a good asset in Lincoln Riley’s embarrassingly rich arsenal. It’s also why he’s an immediate solution to a recent problem. With Woods and Marvin Mims running deep routes, Austin Stogner and Jadon Haselwood coming underneath, Riley is going to have a lot of fun creating mismatches with opposing defenses.
