The fourth round of Bedlam didn’t quite live up to the hype of last weekend’s series but the result was the same. With a conference title on the line once again, it was the Sooners walking off the field victorious. This time around it was more true to form to Oklahoma’s season as the game ended early by way a 10-2 run-rule.

Kinzie Hansen hit her fifth home run of the tournament when she took Oklahoma State’s Carrie Eberle deep to left center field in the bottom of the third. Jocelyn Alo knocked in a team high three RBI on a 3-for-5 performance from the plate and Tiare Jennings and Grace Lyons each produced multi hit performances as well.

Shannon Saile improved to 16-0 on the season by pitching 4.2 innings in which she struck out four and allowed two runs. Nicole May finished the game by pithing a perfect final 1.1 innings in which she didn’t allow a base runner. Oklahoma’s pitching was backed up by stellar defensive plays from shortstop Grace Lyons and centerfielder Jayda Coleman.

With the regular season and post season tournament championships all wrapped up Oklahoma now awaits Sunday’s NCAA Tournament selections show. It’s widely speculated that the Sooners will be the top overall seed in the tournament but Alabama and UCLA are going to make strong cases as well.
