4-Star Edge Rusher Makes Unofficial Visit To Oklahoma

For all of those Oklahoma fans out there who like to leave “what about defensive recruits” in the comments each time the Sooners land a high-caliber offensive player, this one is for you. Rush linebacker Derrick Brown made an unofficial visit to OU.

Earning first-team all district honors in 2020, the 6-4/210 edge rusher from Texarkana, Texas has earned 27 scholarship offers through his first three years of high school football. Last week he narrowed that list down to a Top 8 which included Arizona State, Ole Miss, Baylor, Florida State, TCU, Texas Tech, and Texas along with Oklahoma. Despite the eight schools listed, it appears as though it might be an old fashioned Red River Rivalry for Brown’s commitment. Recruiting site 247Sports has given three crystal ball predictions for Brown with one of them being the Texas Longhorns and the other two are for Oklahoma.

247Sports has Brown listed as the #15 edge defender, and the #46 overall player from the state of Texas, for the 2022 recruiting class.
