Days Before Commitment Date Sooners Are Trending Heavily For 4-Star Offensive Tackle

June was an extremely busy month for Jacob Sexton but July is when he’s really going to get down to business. The 4-star offensive tackle from Edmond, Oklahoma (Deer Creek High School) made visits to Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas A&M during the month of June and now that the calendar has turned to July his official commitment is just days away.

Holding a total of 19 scholarship offers going into his senior year of high school, Sexton (6-5/285) had narrowed his choices down to the five schools that he made June visits to and with a decision date set for July 3rd (Saturday) it appears as if Oklahoma is leading the way.

247Sports has eight crystal ball predictions for Sexton with seven of those pointed at Oklahoma. In late June the Sooners picked up a crystal ball prediction from Horns247 Texas contributor Nick Harris (June 29) and 247Sports Senior Designer Ted Hyman (June 30). It’s also important to note that Oklahoma State also picked up a crystal ball prediction from OSU insider Cody Nagel on June 14th, indicating that Sexton is most likely remaining in the state for his college days one way or the other.

The Sooners have yet to receive a commitment from an offensive tackle for the 2022 recruiting class. 3-Star center Demetrius Hunter (Orange, Texas) is currently Oklahoma’s only offensive line commitment for the recruiting cycle.
