Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class picked up its first commitment on Saturday and it was a huge one! Top 247Sports running back Treyaun Webb pledged his allegiance to the Sooners live on CBS Sports HQ, automatically giving OU the #6 class in the conference with just the one commitment.
Boasting a total of 44 scholarship offers, Webb is listed at 6-0/188 and had narrowed his decision down to Oklahoma, Georgia, and Ohio State. He reportedly had told Lincoln Riley that he was coming to play for the Sooners just a few days after the ChampU BBQ event last month.
Averaging 6.3 yards per carry, as a sophomore last season, Webb helped Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Florida) to a 13-1 record and the 3A state championship. He’s the first of two 2023 commitments expected for Oklahoma this weekend. The #2 quarterback in the class, Malachi Nelson (Los Alamitos, California) is scheduled to announce his decision Sunday afternoon.
