Sooners Pick Up Two 4-Star Crystal Predictions On Tuesday

Oklahoma already has the top recruiting class in the Big 12, and a #5 national ranking, for 2022 but they still aren’t satisfied and are a long way from calling it quits for the class. On Tuesday Lincoln Riley and crew picked up crystal ball predictions for two 4-star prospects at key positions.

Riley already has two running backs among his commitments for 2022 but it appears as if he and DeMarco Murray may not be done with the position. Las Vegas running back Jovante Barnes had been a heavy lean towards USC but the Desert Pines High School standout is starting to look towards Norman now as well. With Alabama and Florida State also in the mix there’s still a ways left in his recruitment but OU definitely seems to be gaining some ground with him.

An attendee for the ChampU BBQ, Barnes has received a total of 34 scholarship offers due to his ability to be an every down type back and a playmaker in the passing game as well (video above).

The second crystal ball prediction to come Oklahoma’s way on Tuesday was for linebacker Devon Jackson who the Sooners are trying to sway away from Arizona State. Tuesday’s prediction was the fourth overall for Jackson but the first towards OU and the first prediction cast for him since April.

Rated as the top player from the state of Nebraska for the 2022 class, Jackson is a 6-2/200 linebacker who possesses track speed.

With 18 scholarships on the table, Jackson has been warming to Oklahoma and Miami (FL) but is still considered a lean towards Arizona State. He’s rated at the #16 overall linebacker prospect in the class.

Oklahoma currently trails Ohio State, Pann State, Notre Dame, and LSU in the national recruiting rankings for 2022, according to 247Sports.
