We’re closing in on being just a month away from the 2022 signing period opening up which means as that crop of recruits is narrowing down their selections the next crop is ready to rise to the spotlight. Oklahoma is already off to a fast start for 2023 though. With seven verbal commitments already in the fold, four of which are five star prospects, the Sooners currently have the nation’s top class for 2023. They’re also a long way from being done with that group which brings Nykoles Harbor into the picture.
At 6-5/225 Harbor is ranked by 247Sports as a 4-star prospect and the top-ranked prospect from the Washington D.C. area. He’s also the #10 overall athlete in the 2023 class. Playing defensive end, tight end, and wide receiver, Harbor has already earned 21 scholarship offers and Oklahoma finds itself competing with Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, and Penn State, among others, for his attention. Interestingly enough it was the Sooners who drew a crystal ball prediction for him on Wednesday evening.
Harbor is also a track guy who ran a 10.38 100 and 21.36 200 as a sophomore which means he fits the mold for Oklahoma’s Speed D and the fact that outside linebackers coach Jamar Cain is leading the charge on his recruiting shows that’s the side of the ball the Sooners would like him to play on.
Norman was the last campus visit that Harbor has taken but prior to his October 16th unofficial visit he had also been to Michigan, Miami, Penn State, and Ohio State.
