Jim Knowles Leaving Oklahoma State For Same Position At Ohio State

Oklahoma State is going to need a new defense coordinator. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day announced on Tuesday that he had offered current Cowboys defensive coordinator Jim Knowles the same position on his staff and that Knowles had accepted.

It doesn’t appear from Day’s comments that Knowles will be with the Buckeyes for the Rose Bowl which brings up the question of if he’ll be with Oklahoma State during the Fiesta Bowl.

Backed by the best defense in the Big 12, Oklahoma State finished as the conference runner-up to the Baylor Bears. Under Knowles direction the Cowboy defense ranked 3rd nationally at 278.4 yards allowed per game.
