Sooners Snag Commitment From #6 QB In 2023 Class

The 2023 recruiting cycle isn’t quite into full swing yet but Oklahoma seems to have established a cornerstone on which to build the class. Denton Guyer quarterback (Denton, Texas) Jackson Arnold made it official early Monday afternoon that he was going to be a member of the 2023 recruiting class.

Rated by 247Sports as a 4-star prospect, and the #6 quarterback in the 2023 class, Arnold is sitting on 25 scholarship offers. Oklahoma beat out the likes of Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Ohio State for his commitment. The 6-1/195 signal caller committed to the Sooners just days after receiving offers from Mississippi State, Nebraska, and LSU.

Passing for 3,921 yards and 34 touchdowns, as a Junior in 2021, Arnold also used his legs to account for another 659 yards and 12 more touchdowns. He was the Texas District 5-6A Co-MVP and helped lead Guyer to a berth in the Class 6A-Division II state championship game.

Arnold becomes the third verbal commitment for Oklahoma’s 2023 class, joining receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. and offensive lineman Joshua Bates.
