Why the Thunder Will Cover (+1.5)
OKC actually opened up as a 1-point favorite in this matchup, but they have since gone up and down to finally settle as a slight underdog. I believe these two teams are pretty evenly matched, despite the fact that the Hawks have an advantage in their frontcourt. Regardless, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has played like a top-10 player this season, and I think he will look like the best player on the court tonight. I’m taking OKC to win this one.

Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (238)
I’m done being tricked. I’ve picked the over on the point total for the last couple of Thunder games at a similar number, and it’s not even really been close, so I just can’t do it again. Even though both OKC and Atlanta have high-scoring offenses, the Thunder has played some incredible defense in the month of January, and I think that makes the difference not only in the point total staying under 238 but in OKC winning the game.
