Officially Miami, Oregon, Florida, Michigan State, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma are the finalists for 2024 5-star defensive lineman David Stone, but if you trust the recruiting experts then it really might be down to just Michigan State and Oklahoma, with the Sooners having an advantage. On Tuesday OU picked up another crystal ball prediction for Stone. It was the fourth prediction, from 247Sports, in favor of the crimson and cream and it’s hopefully an indicator of good news on Saturday. Stone is set to make his decision at 1:00 PM on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Drumm was the first person from 247 to cast a crystal ball for Stone to pledge to the Sooners. He did that in February of last year and then was followed a month later by 247’s Director of Football Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong. Two other predictions have come since then, but what makes yesterday’s prediction different is that it actually came from Michigan State Insider Justin Thind.
Of course, predicting where a recruit is going to pledge to has always been tricky and the NIL era has made it even more so. However, if Oklahoma does land a commitment it will be a huge addition to a 2024 class that already ranks #16 nationally and is highlighted by eight 4-star recruits. If he were to join the class, Stone would become Oklahoma’s first 5-star commitment for 2024.
Stone 6-4/270 plays at Bradenton, Florida’s prestigious IMG Academy. He currently holds 34 scholarship offers and made official visits over the summer to Florida (June 2), Miami (June 9), Oklahoma (June 16), and Michigan State (June 23).

He isn’t the only 5 Star comit! But he may be the first defensive 5 star comit
I wasn’t going by composite rankings. You’re right, though. Tatum is a composite 5-star running back.
