Series History

This is the first meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Nets. Last season, the Thunder went 2-0 against the Nets (1-0 at home, 1-0 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-7.5)

All things considered, I really like this spread. It’s safe to say that Oklahoma City is the hottest team in the league right now while Brooklyn definitely is not. The Thunder has won 6 of their last 7, and the Nets have managed just 2 wins in their last 9 games, both of which were against the Detroit Pistons. OKC has been solid at home, winning 8 of their last 9, and I expect they’ll put on a show so Thunder fans can usher in the New Year with some excitement.

Why the Game Will Hit the Over (234.5)

The Thunder and the Nets average a combined 237 points while giving up a combined 229. I don’t usually look too closely at either of those numbers, but I’m inclined to think this one will go over the point total just because of the fact that Brooklyn is kind of desperate for a win, and OKC is going to keep doing what they do.
