Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #34 Preview: Brooklyn Nets

OKC looks to get back on track on Friday night as they continue their road trip with a stop in Brooklyn against the Nets. The Thunder hosted the Nets on New Year’s Eve, and after getting off to a slow start, they handled Brooklyn just fine to come out on top 124-108. Brooklyn’s struggles have continued as they have suffered double-digit defeats to the New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets since then, so they are going to try to break their 5-game losing streak by getting a win in front of the home crowd.

Thunder Against the Spread | Take OKC To Bounce Back and Cover Spread in Brooklyn

I knew that Wednesday’s matchup in Atlanta against the Hawks was a trap game, but I still expected OKC to pull out a win. Even after trailing by 16 with just a few minutes left in the game, the Thunder put themselves in a good position to force overtime at the least, and they very nearly did it. With that in mind, I think they come back in full force tonight after a solid day’s rest to pick up a second big win against Brooklyn in the last week.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #31 Preview: Brooklyn Nets

Now the Thunder looks to wrap up 2023 with a home game against the struggling Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have won just 2 of their last 9, and both wins came against the Detroit Pistons, which isn’t saying much. A win for OKC would give the Thunder 10 wins in a calendar month for just the second time in the last 4 seasons.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Heavily Favored at Home For NYE Game Against Nets

All things considered, I really like this spread. It’s safe to say that Oklahoma City is the hottest team in the league right now while Brooklyn definitely is not. The Thunder has won 6 of their last 7, and the Nets have managed just 2 wins in their last 9 games, both of which were against the Detroit Pistons. OKC has been solid at home, winning 8 of their last 9, and I expect they’ll put on a show so Thunder fans can usher in the New Year with some excitement.

OKC Thunder | Game #69 Preview: Brooklyn Nets

Just a couple of weeks ago, it looked like the Oklahoma City Thunder might be ready to tank. Losers of 5 straight out of the All-Star Break, playoff chances were dwindling. Since then, OKC has won 5 of the last 6 and is currently tied for 9th place in the West with a 33-35 record. They have a chance to inch a little higher up the standings Tuesday night as they host the Brooklyn Nets.

OKC Thunder | Game #17 Preview: Suns

Tonight, the Thunder takes on the Phoenix Suns in the first matchup between Chris Paul and his former OKC squad. Paul is doing a solid job leading the Suns so far, but they are without Devin Booker, so this should make for a great matchup.

OKC Thunder | Bubble Game #6 Preview: Phoenix Suns

Today, the Thunder takes on the hottest team in the bubble, the only team to be undefeated through every seeding game so far, the Phoenix Suns (31-39). Entering the bubble, it appeared as if Phoenix had no chance at making the playoffs, but now they’re on the verge of doing just that.

OKC Thunder | Game #28 Preview: Suns

Tonight, the Thunder hosts the Phoenix Suns (11-16), who are going through a bit of a rough stretch. Since starting the season 6-3, the Suns have lost 13 of their last 18, and they have not won a game on the road against a team currently in a playoff position.

Game #34 Preview | Phoenix Suns

The Oklahoma City Thunder is on a bit of a slide, perhaps the worst set of losses since starting the season 0-4. The Thunder has lost 2 consecutive games and 5 of the last 10 to put them at 3rd in the West with a 21-12 record, but they have a good chance to get back on track tonight as they play the Suns in Phoenix.
