Series History

The Thunder are 1-0 against the Charlotte Hornets so far this season (1-0 at home, 0-0 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will NOT Cover (-9)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is currently in OKC so that he can stay conditioned and ready for his return, which I suspect will be Tuesday at home against the Sacramento Kings. Even with him out, the Thunder has plenty of talent to beat a struggling Hornets squad. Jalen Williams is listed as questionable, but I expect him to make a return, and even if he’s more like 90-95% than 100% healthy, I anticipate he has a solid game and leads the Thunder to a win. Still, I can see Charlotte making it slightly more difficult than it should be with a late cover to keep the deficit to single digits.

Why the Game Will Hit the Over (218.5)

Off the top of my head, this is easily one of the lowest point totals in a Thunder game all season long. The only way this doesn’t hit the over is if Charlotte builds a brick mansion of bad shots and can’t get on the scoreboard. Because I expect the Hornets to keep it reasonably close, I see this one soaring over the point total.
