Series History

The Thunder went 1-1 against the Celtics last season (1-0 at home, 0-1 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-2)

OKC continues to win games in improbable ways, and if they don’t get off to a good start today, it might catch up with them. The NBA Champions of last year are no pushover, but I think the Thunder might be just a little bit deeper, even with the injuries. I expect this one to be decided late, possibly on the final possession of the game, but I’m taking the Thunder to cover and continue their win streak.

Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (222.5)

The Thunder and the Celtics are both top-10 teams in the NBA in scoring, but they’re also both top-6 teams in points allowed. Neither team turns the ball over much—they’re #1 and #2 in fewest turnovers per game—and OKC relies on forcing turnovers to get easy buckets. It will be interesting to see if either team makes very mistakes, but either way, I think this is going to be a defensive battle that stays just under the point total.
