Why the Thunder Will Cover (-7)
OKC is a perfect 11-0 against the spread during its current 11-game winning streak. The Thunder are not just beating teams; they’re doing it in a convincing manner. The Rockets have played well lately, winning 13 of their last 15 games, but not a single win has come against a top-6 team in either conference, and the two losses were against the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. While this should be a close game, I won’t be surprised if the Thunder pulls away late like they have been so good at doing, thus covering the spread.
Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (228.5)
Both the Thunder and the Rockets have quality offenses and formidable defenses. While this could be a high-scoring game—the point total was 265 when these two teams met a month ago—I’m expecting the defense to be turned up as the end of the regular season is right around the corner.
