Why the Thunder Will NOT Cover (-6.5)
OKC is playing in the second game of a back-to-back, but they absolutely crushed the Golden State Warriors last night, allowing for plenty of rest to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of the starters. Still, I expect some fatigue at some point, and the Lakers are coming in fresh after a day off. This will likely be a close one, at least close enough to cover the spread at the end.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (230.5)
The Thunder is one of the top-scoring offenses in the league right now, and the Lakers are in the top half at least. OKC also maintains the best defense in the league, but Los Angeles is nowhere near that. When two of the league’s top scorers—Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic—go head-to-head, you can expect plenty of points to be scored. I think this point total might be considerably lower than what the final tally will actually be.
