The Oklahoma State Cowboys got off to a rocky start in the Fiesta Bowl, trailing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 14-0 halfway through the first quarter. With just a little over a minute left in the second quarter, Notre Dame had increased their lead to 28-7, but a touchdown right before halftime allowed the Cowboys to cut the deficit to two touchdowns.
All season long, Oklahoma State has relied on the defense to push them to victory, and it’s going to take nothing less than just that to beat Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish average over 400 yards of offense per game with 263.6 yards per game coming from the passing game, so stopping that should be a major focus.
