Russell Westbrook put on a show tonight during the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans. He wasn’t a starter (what a shame) but that certainly didn’t stop him from being his usual self. He finished the night with 41 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Westbrook certainly came out to put on a show. Anyone who thought he would take it easy and not try to get a win is crazy. The Brodie came out with the same intensity he does every night. He even gave John Wall a shove, but followed it up with a wink at the end.

Russ did just about everything during the game, including throwing down an alley-oop from former teammate Kevin Durant. The lob and finish certainly caused a big reaction from both fans and the players on the court. Some think that this means the feud between the two is done. However, I feel as if it is far from over. Both guys seemed to avoid all the “mushy gushy” stuff when asked about the moment. Instead, they both talked about how good of a basketball play it was.

During the end of the third quarter and into the early fourth, Russ heated up from beyond the arc. At one point, he hit three in a row from deep. Westbrook finished the night shooting 7/13 from three.
Russ was practically robbed of the MVP by Anthony Davis, however. Davis played an amazing game, but he had 12 more minutes and took 13 more shots than Westbrook. The combination of extra minutes, more shots, and playing in his home city pushed Anthony Davis ahead. Regardless, the Brodie represented the Thunder and the State of Oklahoma very well.
