The Oklahoma Sooners closed out the regular season with two consecutive losses to Oklahoma State in the Bedlam Series. However, they’ll now turn their focus to the double-elimination format of the Big 12 Tournament. Putting one rival in the rearview mirror OU now finds themselves paired against another bitter rival.

Taking home the No. 3 Seed behind a 12-11 record, the Sooners have been matched up against the No. 6 Seeded Texas Longhorns in a night cap on day one. Scheduled for Wednesday, May 24th, the first pitch is to be thrown at 7:30 PM. The two programs have not met in the post-season since 2008. Yet, it’s the Longhorns who hold a 4-1 post-season advantage over the Sooners.
Challenging OU during the regular season, Texas also holds a regular season advantage taking the series (2-1) in Austin this year. Now, it’s the Sooners who will play closer to home in Oklahoma City looking for a different outcome.
Moving forward to day two, Oklahoma will play either TCU or Kansas on Thursday.
