For nearly a decade Oklahoma Softball has dominated the Big 12 with a perfect balance of pitching and hitting. The Sooners put on a display, in both of those categories, as they used three home runs and no-hitter from Paige Parker to run-rule Oklahoma State 8-0 in five innings.
Sporting a perfect record in conference, Oklahoma only needed to win one of this week’s three Bedlam games to secure their seventh Big 12 championship. With storms closing in on the Oklahoma City Metro area, the Sooners made quick work of the Cowgirls.
Nicole Pendley sent a 2-0 pitch out of the park, over center field, to put OU on the board in the bottom of the second inning. Then, four batters later, Eliyah Flores knocked the first home run of her career. Her 2-run blast off the scoreboard in left field scored Lea Wodach and put the Sooners up 3-0. An RBI single by Jocelyn Alo completed Oklahoma’s four-run second by pushing Sydney Romero home.
No doubt.

The Sooners struck for four runs again in the fourth inning to put the run-rule in play. Flores came home on an error by OSU short stop Sydney Pennington and then Shay Knighten lowered the boom. With Alo and Romero on base, Knighten went deep to left center.

Led by Paige Parker, from the circle, Oklahoma was just as dominant from the field. Parker struck out five batters in five innings and left Oklahoma State hitless to improve her season record to 23-2.
